Here are my “Seven Guidelines for Attaining Financial Freedom.” Simply put…
1. FOCUS ON EARNING NOT SPENDING. Place your attention on making and saving money and you’ll have less time to spend it.
2. LIVE SUBSTANTIALLY BELOW YOUR INCOME. No matter how much you make, you can always spend more. To have money, you must keep some of what you earn. Get into the habit of living on less than you make.
3. GET OUT OF DEBT. In particular, pay off your credit cards. If you can’t train yourself to keep your monthly balance paid in full, then get rid of the cards.
4. BE FRUGAL AND SAVE MONEY. Contrary to popular belief, numerous studies show that most millionaires are extremely conservative with their spending.
5. PRACTICE CASH CONSCIOUSNESS. Count your change, pay your bills on time and balance your checkbook. Know how much money you have and how much you spend.
6. REALIZE YOUR TIME HAS VALUE. Like money, spend your time wisely. As you begin to earn more money, your hourly worth increases too. Hire someone to clean, cook and take care of the lawn. Pay them a fair wage and use your extra time to make MORE MONEY.
7. HAVE A STRONG PURPOSE AND A CLEAR PLAN. Without a well designed plan for your finances, your money will disappear fast. Decide what you want to be, do and have in your life. Include your projected future income and savings. Set a goal to attain financial freedom.
There you have it – my Seven simple steps to improve your bottom line. Put them in place and you’ll start to accumulate wealth.
