Last time, in the make money from home blog, we talked about the age-old question, “Authority site or Dedicated Site?” and we explored some of the advantages and disadvantages of an authority site.

Today, we’ll talk about some of the advantages and disadvantages of a dedicated site.

Many people prefer a dedicated site simply because it is the easiest of the two models.  With a dedicated site, you only need to focus on selling one product and one product ONLY.

Why is this a good thing?

Because it concentrates your focus and creates a lot less work for you, trust me.

For instance, if you were going to use article marketing to drive traffic to your dedicated site you would only have to write articles about the one product that your site carries as opposed to writing several articles for half a dozen or more products with an authority site.

Of course, since you only have one product for your prospects, there are no distractions. However, this can also be a disadvantage.

If they aren’t interested in the product you are offering, you have lost that prospect forever, as opposed to an authority site where they may be interested in one of your other products.

So which type of site is best?

It’s hard to say, each of the two models have their advantages and disadvantages. And, each of the two models have proven to be effective at making money online.

What it really comes down to is which model you are most comfortable with.
